A furniture or not a furniture, that is the question. Furnitures are at the base of luxury and the helm of a home. Furnitures have been around for thousands of years. Used by the Romans, Mayans, Greeks and all major civilizations known to men. Humans have a deep understanding and appreciation for beauty and organization. So much so that furniture has become a requisite in all homes.

There are many types of furniture's. The most common are created of wood by furniture makers, or hobbyists. However it is not uncommon to find furniture made of metal, plastic or other material. When it comes to furniture the varieties are quite extensive.

There are furnitures that are created with the intention of providing a sitting location, such as a couch or chair. A couch or sofa is a common piece of furniture found in most homes. This furniture is for the seating of individuals. Couches come in many designs, and are often soft and comfortable and created to seat individuals in comfort. Couches have become so popular, that you can often find them in places such as coffee houses and university halls.

The entertainment center is yet another important piece of a living room. And as the name implies it is often the focus of a good portion of a family's time in this room. Though not in itself the sole definer of the center of the room, it is created with the intention of housing equipment and or decorations that brings the room alive. The entertainment center is also often times created of wood, metal or glass, but can be made of other materials as well.

Another common furniture in living rooms is the side tables and coffee tables. A living room lacking these items would seem barren. The side tables often only serve decorative functions, such as housing lamps and accenting the design of the coffee table. The coffee table serves a central role in providing a place to put the popcorn and drinks in those unforgettable movie nights. And a place for the beer in those loud sports night.
