When buying an online business/website you may wish to consider the popularity of the business. If the website/business has been active on the internet for some time and already has a customer base, it will be much easier to make a profit in the early stages. Of course something can be said of websites/business that are unestablished, however, buying an online business is not the same as buying a brick and mortar business. In the real world, people can see your physical building without much marketing, however on the web, if you fail to market, you fail to be seen. So if purchasing an online business that had little to no previous marketing, you must prepare yourself to market it, which is in itself a bit expensive.
Furthermore, now that you have an idea of what to look for when purchasing an online business, you will need to locate one. eBay is a very good place to locate established and newly developed websites. Also, you may run a search on your favorite search engine for a something that interest you. If you find a website that looks promising, make an offer to the owner.
